Tip for Following Blogs #1

For IDT 516, we have quite a few blogs to keep track of to make our Discussion 9 posts. How do you know when someone has updated their blog?

Rather than clicking the links every day, you can follow your classmates' blogs using blogger's 'Reading List' feature.

On your main blogger page, look for this at the left side of your screen. Click the 'Add' button and enter the URL of the blogs you want to follow. Then, when they make an update, it shows right there on your own screen.

Here's a screen shot of my page. I've circled the area.

IDT 516 - Final Project Proposals

Well, we have a great set of project ideas lined up for IDT 516 this semester. I think there are some really creative ideas, using a wide variety of tools. I have commented on each project, and followed all the blog sites. To keep track of posts and comments, this year I have integrated Google Sheets, which will allow me to stay connected on all of my devices. We are off and running!

IDT 516 - Fall 2015

Wow! It's been a while since my last post.

IDT 516 is getting ready to blog about their Final Projects. I am looking forward to seeing them develop.

The first thing I am looking for is the URLs for each individual blog. Email me as soon as you have yours set up.

Week 3 Final Project Updates

Well the third week is wrapping up. Technically everyone has next week as well. The goal at this point is to have your learning activity complete and then test it with possible learners. It will be interesting to see the results. Finally, the last week of class you will have time to write your report and submit everything to me.

In the meantime, I just came across this article and resource on MOOCs: http://oedb.org/ilibrarian/the-future-of-moocs/

It's an interesting read.

Week 2 of the Final Project

We are coming to the end of our second week working on Final Projects. The first was coming up with an idea and determining your Web 2.0 tool. This week you should finish creating the learning activity. That leaves the third week to test out the activity with learners (with some extra time during Thanksgiving break if needed), and finally the fourth week is for writing up your report.
When making your blog posts, you should just give an update and don't have to post the project activity itself.

Following Progress in Your Blog

One way to keep track of everyone's blogs is to 'Add' them to your Blogger 'Reading List'. This way you can at a glance see the most recent updates, all on one page.

By the end of this week, you should have a new blog post updating us on the progress you've made on your project.

Blog URLs Are Good to Go

Everyone has set up their blog page and the URLs are now posted on the Class Blog URLs page. I'm looking forward to following progress on everyone's Final Project.
