Looking through your blogs

NetVibes has really helped me organize my blog watching. Has anyone else used the tab I emailed out? So far, most of the blogs are looking great, and more importantly, they are showing progress with your Final Projects. We are almost done!

On a side note: the new cd is now available at Borders in Davenport. You can find it in the independent artist bin under the name GEMnEYE. The new one is called "Legacy". The first one is also available (called "The Covenant"). I think the difference in sound quality between the two is really noticable as I learn to figure out how the software works.

I have everything on my 516 tab and I'm snooping through blogs daily!

The tab really made the blogs easier to visit. Being able to see everybody's in one place is great.

As you undoubtedly know, I'm using your blog tab...have it posted on my Blogsite.

What digital instrument tool/software are you creating your music with?

Is WIU have any plans to offer a class on Podcasting?

I'm very invigorated, challenged, and gratified in this class. This part is especially fun. I'm considering doing a blog for each of the two musical ventures I have. How crazy is that? I guess I'll find out.

Joe, I am using to different software programs. The first is ScoreWriter, which I use to orchestrate the music. I know some people "score" directly in midi, but I have a pretty good grasp on notation, so it actually is faster for me to do it this way. I output the score to a midi file. Then I import the midi into a program called Sonar. Sonar allows me to mix the songs, add in software synthesizers and virtual instruments, and record vocals. I started this about a year ago, so still have quite a bit to learn. I've got a few hundred songs in my head waiting and I am already working on the next cd. Wish I was a better marketer.

interesting...I'm unfamiliar with either Scorewriter or Sonar.

Are you aware of CDBaby.com? If not, check it out. I'd be surprised if you're not but in case you aren't...for a small fee and 5 cds you can get your music listed on the CDBaby website as well as uploaded to iTunes...it seems there's something or some other benefit they offer. Pretty good deal for indie musicians!

I am just figuring out the marketing aspect. CDBaby sounds very intriguing. Thanks for the tip.
