Blogs and Wikis

Well I have made a fifth pass through everyone's blogs and most of you are in great shape with your Final Projects. I like seeing how things are progressing, and the blogs give me a chance to provide feedback as you are are working on them instead of waiting to the end.

On a different note, I recently submitted a proposal for a book on wikis to Jossey-Bass and it has been accepted. I will probably be contacting everyone sometime next week with permission slips for your wiki projects this semester. I hope to use the FAQ and at least one of the group projects for some of the examples that will be in the book. (btw-I will also post this as an announcement in WesternOnline.)

a book...that's very cool! Have you published any other books or is this your first? If so, is the publisher you mentioned favor first time authors? I'll try and do some research into them when I finish up with these final assignments.

I have actually published under the pseudonym "J.K. Rowling" before. You might have read some of them...

Just kidding of course. This is my first book.

Congrats, Dr. West! I hope all my e-mails of my web pages got through. How long after course completion will the weternonline site be pulled? There are (as I believe Joe said) some golden nuggets that I would like to sort throught, for later use. Finally, what will happen to our netvibes and blogspots? My efforts will be in updating the sound clips on my website.
Thanks- Russ

You, wizard, you! I thought I recognized a similarity between you and Dumbledore! Only a wizard could change from a poverty stricken waitress to a college professor with high-tech skills such as yours! ;^)

I look forward to your book! Congrats on being accepted by the publisher. How soon before it'll be out do ya think?
